SINGLE REVIEW: 'Everything's Alright' | Geezas

A good six months on from the release of their debut, Hot Head, Halifax based Geezas are back again with their sophomore single, Everything's Alright. I was a big fan of their first track and I saw real potential in it for these boys; this new single definitely doesn't disappoint either, following in the same footsteps.

On the track, drummer Isaac Brierley told me "it's about the people who are there for you in the most uncertain of times, and assure you that everything is fine." This track narrates a feeling of anxiety, which, despite the track being written before lockdown, is fitting given the current circumstances. The repeated lyrics "you said that it doesn't matter if I was under the weather" shows the support and reassurance coming from another person.

The vocals in this track are, to some extent, quite mellow; there's a softness apparent in Steel's voice that radiates empathy in the anxieties we feel. Accompanied by indie-rock instrumentals this is another strong track from the boys, one I feel is a lot more 'put together,' and we're seeing Geezas 'get to grips' with this whole music thing. Their talent is something that definitely needs a little bit more recognition, so I very much recommend checking out their debut, and being ready for the release of Everything's Alright.

Everything's Alright will be available on all streaming services on 10/07.
